CUSTOM MILLWORK

This piece of custom millwork was designed by the Oliver Thornton Home to house a large television and accompanying media boxes.  Conceptually, the unit was divided between base and upper sections, the base providing storage in the form of pull out drawers and push release cabinets, the upper housing a 48" television behind reeded glass, with bookshelves for decorative staging.  The design also incorporated accessibility to three wall outlets and three library sconces.

TRIBECA APARTMENT

ORIGINAL FLOOR-PLAN

The client's original floor-plan included unused square footage, a dark, closed-in kitchen and small bathroom.  Lighting fixtures were sparse with no option to add additional overhead lighting due to building regulations.  Utilities were required to remain in the same location, restricting how we appointed the kitchen.

REVISED FLOOR-PLAN

The new floor-plan includes an open-plan kitchen island with floating shelf unit, an expanded bathroom and built-in media centre.  Wall and library sconces provide additional lighting, with the inclusion of dedicated task, table and standard lamps.

GRAMERCY APARTMENT

ORIGINAL LAYOUT

This one-bed apartment had good square footage but a series of bad renovations, built ins and ceiling soffits needed resolving.  The client wanted to keep their existing two slipper chairs and an English roll-arm sofa but completely revise their living space, which included a small kitchen.

REVISED LAYOUT

A revised floor-plan was submitted, which included a 'champagne bar' and an arch to centre the room.
