MEDIA CENTRE

This custom piece of millwork was designed by Oliver to house a large, wall hung television and accompanying media boxes, including a sound bar and WiFi hub.  It was designed in three sections - two sides and a central section - and split between a 'base' and 'upper' unit.  The base providing storage in the form of pull out drawers and push release cabinets, the upper housing a 48" television behind reeded glass, with bookshelves either side for decorative staging.

The design incorporated accessibility to three wall outlets which sat behind the unit and three library sconces, which provided illumination to their respective section.

FLOOR-PLANS

ORIGINAL FLOOR-PLAN

The client's original floor-plan included unused square footage, a dark, closed-in kitchen and small bathroom.  Lighting fixtures were sparse with no option to add additional overhead lighting due to building regulations.  Utilities were required to remain in the same location, restricting how we appointed the kitchen.

REVISED FLOOR-PLAN

The new floor-plan includes an open kitchen island with floating shelf unit, an expanded bathroom and built-in media centre to create storage.  Wall and library sconces provided additional lighting, with the inclusion of dedicated task, table and standard lamps.
